Jellyfish earrings made from recycled sterling silver and aventurine and rose quartz gems.
Dangle earrings with a long chain- earring is around 15 cm long. Perfect festival jewellery.
Inspired by the beauty of the mysterious and dangerous jellyfish- if you are not a big fan of these creatures, remember that turtles eat them to get high. :))) And we like turtles.
These are made from recycled sterling silver and the gems were polished in the Czech Republic. We generally avoid sourcing beads or gems from India and China as these countries have very poor record of workers protection. If you would like to find out more follow our blog.
Q & A
What does it mean that the silver is recycled?
We use recycled sterling silver because we think that if the option exists we should do that. If we lower demand for newly mined silver there will be more for future generations. It is true that some silver is byproduct from copper refining so there is little we can do with that but we do our bit.
Is all silver used recycled?
No. At this moment we buy in the little scrolls that keep your earring in and we do not know much about the origins of silver used. They come from a UK manufacturer. In the future, we will be looking into getting them in Fairtrade certified silver but the options is not available just yet. We also buy in the chain for these earrings- it is made by a UK manufacturer who uses recycled and Fairtrade materials.
Are the gems recycled?
We love using recycled gems but these go mainly into one of a kind designs. For our permanent collections we use gems from various like-minded suppliers. These come from a lapidary in the Czech Republic and they do all the polishing themselves.
